New Delhi: In a disturbing incident captured on CCTV, two schoolgirls fell out of a moving school van in Manjalpur, Vadodara, Gujarat, sparking widespread concern about student safety. The incident, occurring around 11:45 am on Wednesday as per the viral video timestamp, shows a white school van navigating a narrow street filled with students. As the van exits the frame, a sudden scream is heard, followed by the shocking sight of two girls tumbling out of the vehicle.

Bystanders rush to aid 

Immediately, bystanders rush to aid the injured girls, who can be seen visibly in pain. The incident has since triggered outrage on social media, with many expressing apprehensions over the safety measures employed by school transport services.

Who is responsible for it? 

Allegations of negligence have been leveled against the van driver, accusing him of failing to secure the van door properly, which led to the girls falling out. Subsequently, following complaints from the parents of the students involved, the police have taken the driver into custody.

This incident has prompted heightened scrutiny from authorities. In response, the Gujarat government has intensified safety measures for students, particularly in the wake of recent incidents such as the TRP Game Zone fire in Rajkot. The Education Department and Regional Transport Office (RTO) are rigorously enforcing fire safety protocols in schools and closely monitoring compliance with regulations for rickshaws and vans used for student transportation. However, the driver has been arrested.
