Jain was arrested on Saturday by the STF team of Shahdara from the IGI airport following non-bailable warrants (Linkedin)

Sanjeev Jain, the chief executive officer and managing director of Parsvnath Developers, was apprehended by Delhi Police at the Indira Gandhi International Airport following a 60-kilometer pursuit. The arrest occurred on Saturday after Jain attempted to evade law enforcement at his residence.

The arrest stemmed from a consumer complaint filed in 2017 by Rajat Babbar. Jain had multiple warrants against him, including four non-bailable and one bailable warrant issued by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. These warrants were pending at the Shahdara police station. Notably, the most recent non-bailable warrant was filed on July 18, 2024, after Jain failed to appear before the commission.

Police statement and charges

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara), Surendra Choudhary, stated, "Jain was arrested on Saturday by the STF team of Shahdara from the IGI airport following non-bailable warrants issued against the CEO for his inability to appear before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission."

Sanjeev Jain has been with Parsvnath Developers Private Limited for 32 years, serving as the managing director and CEO. The company, established in 1984, operates in 37 cities and 13 states across India. Jain resides in Gurugram, in the DLF Phase 2 area. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune, and completed his schooling in Khekra, Uttar Pradesh, attending Jain Khekra Inter College.
