After Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) unexpected loss in Faizabad (Ayodhya), controversial remarks targeting the voters have surfaced on social media. Ghaziabad Police apprehended two individuals, Daksh Chaudhary, and Anu Chaudhary, after a video allegedly mocking the voters went viral. Police identified Daksh as the person who had previously slapped Kanhaiya Kumar and threw ink on him in Delhi.

The viral video features the two accused hurling abuses at the voters of Ayodhya, criticizing them for the BJP's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. They accused the voters of casting their ballots based on caste instead of supporting religious and nationalist sentiments.

Who is Daksh Chaudhary?

Reports reveal that Daksh Chaudhary claims to be an official of the Hindu Raksha Dal and a fervent 'Gau Rakshak.' His social media profiles are filled with pictures of him brandishing weapons and posing with BJP leaders.

Here's what he said on Ayodhya elections:

In the video, he said, "You betrayed the ones who fed you. Your caste has become greater than your religion. The party that bought God Shri Ram back to his home, you did not vote for them. Rather you voted for the members of the party that attacked the Kar Sevaks."

Political context in Ayodhya

On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi consecrated the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The recent election in Faizabad was the first since the temple's construction, a key BJP agenda item. Despite this, voters chose Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad over BJP's Lallu Singh by a margin of 54,567 votes.

Legal consequences

Shalimar Garden Circle ACP Siddharth Gautam stated that the video depicts two suspects in their car using abusive language towards the residents of Faizabad (Ayodhya) and attempting to offend religious sentiments. We initiated action on our own and filed an FIR.

He added that police have detained Daksh Chaudhary and Annu Chaudhary, and a case has been registered under sections 295A and 504 of the IPC at Teela Mod police station.
