Baba Tarsem Singh, the Dera Kar Seva Pramukh of Nanakmatta Gurdwara in Udham Singh Nagar district was shot dead early morning on Thursday. Nanakmatta is a prominent Sikh pilgrimage in Uttarakhand.According to the sources, the incident happened at around 6 am, when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle entered the Dera and opened fire at Baba Tarsem Singh. Reportedly, he was sitting on a chair. Soon after the incident, he was taken to Khatima Hospital, where he was declared dead. Police suspect it is an internal rivalry. Taking swift action in the case, the District SSP Manjunath TC formed eight police teams to investigate the matter. Additionally, an SIT is being formed at the Police Headquarters in Dehradun to ensure a thorough inquiry, officials said.SSP Manjunath said, We are committed to apprehending the perpetrators and bringing them to justice swiftly. Not only this, the volunteers from Kar Seva at times of disaster, religiously worked for people.Sources also claim that he had no enemies, hence many questions are being raised about who committed this crime and what was the reason behind his murder.
