New Delhi: In a strange and shocking incident, Hyderabads Excise Department has seized an ice cream parlor for selling whiskey-laced ice cream. The raid, which took place at Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlor in the posh Jubilee Hills area, revealed that the parlor was mixing alcohol into ice cream, much to the surprise of the authorities. Several individuals involved in this illegal operation have been arrested, officials confirmed on Friday.Whiskey-laced ice cream seizedThe raid resulted in the confiscation of 23 pieces, totaling 11.5 kg, of whiskey-infused ice cream. The main accused, Sharath Chandra Reddy, was found adding 60 ml of whiskey to each kilogram of ice cream, selling the boozy treat at inflated prices. Gopal Agrawal, a resident of Attapur, was arrested for smuggling liquor from Chandigarh, with plans to sell it at a hefty profit in Hyderabad. Officials stated, “The accused had purchased liquor for ₹1.32 lakh in Chandigarh and was aiming to sell it for ₹4 lakh in Hyderabad.” The Excise Department is continuing its investigation into both cases.
