8th Pay Commission: When will the recommendations of the new pay commission be implemented?
As the term of the current 7th Pay Commission is going to end on 31 December 2025, the biggest question in the minds of employees is whether the government will be able to implement the new pay commission from January 2026 or not. Looking at past examples, it is highly unlikely that the recommendations of the new pay commission will be implemented from January next year as previous pay commissions have usually taken more than a year to finalise their reports. This time since the announcement of the pay commission has been delayed compared to previous pay commissions, it is more likely that the implementation of the recommendations will be seen only in the financial year 2026-27.

One of their questions was whether the government has set any deadline for submitting the report of the 8th Pay Commission. These MPs also asked about the progress made on the terms of reference of the Pay Commission.
