New Delhi: In a stunning turn of events, Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sukanta Majumdar made an unexpected appearance on the ramp during the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav fashion show held in New Delhi on Saturday. Both ministers donned traditional northeastern-style jackets, captivating the audience as they walked the ramp to highlight the vibrant fashion heritage of Northeast India. This fashion show was a key component of the three-day Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav, a grand celebration dedicated to showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of the northeastern states.

The eight northeastern states—Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sikkim—are collectively referred to as 'Ashtalaxmi,' symbolizing eight forms of prosperity that significantly contribute to India's cultural and economic landscape.
