BJP leader Kompella Madhavi Latha from Hyderabad has sparked a controversy after a video showed her directing an imaginary arrow at a mosque during a Ram Navami procession on Wednesday.
In the video, Madhavi Lata is spreading her hands as if she is pulling an arrow. It is seen in the video that Madhavi is aiming an arrow towards a mosque.
On the video, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that people of BJP and RSS have done provocative acts. I appeal to the youth of Hyderabad to see what BJP and RSS are doing. You use your vote for the peace of Hyderabad. BJP and RSS want to spoil the peace of the city. Sources said AIMIM may approach the Election Commission with a complaint against Latha.
AIMIM spokesperson Waris Pathan also reacted on the video, BJP is trying to create a communal atmosphere in the country. What is the Election Commission doing? She is a BJP candidate and the gesture she seems to be making towards a mosque is completely unacceptable.
Meanwhile, after the controversy over the video, Madhavi Lata issued a clarification claiming that the video is incomplete and edited. She clarified and apologized if anyone is hurt.
