West Bengal: Man beheads wife, dances with head over suspicion of extra-marital affair

In a spine-chilling incident in West Bengal, a 40-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after he beheaded his wife and roamed around with the severed head in his neighbourhood in the East Midnapore district.

The shocking incident came to light when some locals spotted a man near the Chistipur bus stop with clothes soaked in blood and was seen dancing with her head. Horrified at the sight, the people informed the police. Cops arrested the man identified as 40-year-old Goutam Guchait. He was taken into custody and interrogation revealed the head was of his wife whom he killed. 

Accused was mentally unstable

Police said that the accused was found to be mentally unstable. According to Police, the accused attacked his wife with a sharp-edged weapon following a dispute between the couple at their residence. After investigation, the beheaded body was recovered. The man is currently under arrest and further investigation is underway. 

Accused was having troubled relationship with wife

Guchait, a hawker by profession, was having a troubled relationship with his wife for some time now, as he suspected her of having an extra-marital affair.
