After Mamata Banerjee, AAP on Wednesday has denied to go with Congress in Punjab. This development has come as a setback for Congress, after Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann ruled out the alliance between both the parties in the state. Notably, Congress and AAP are allies in the Opposition INDIA bloc.

The remarks from Punjab CM came amid seat-sharing talks between AAP and Congress for the Lok Sabha polls, expected to take place in April-May, this year. The two parties have reportedly paused seat-sharing talks in the border state.

It is worth noting that this development has come when Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee stated that their party is not in any discussion with Congress and will go solo in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.

While addressing a question in media briefing, whether AAP will go alone in the Lok Sabha polls in the state Bhagwant Mann said, "We have nothing to with Congress in Punjab."

He further expressed confidence in his party winning the elections with 13-0 votes.

Bhagwant Mann earlier this month hinted that the high command would make the final decision on any alliance with Congress. However Subsequently, the AAP collaborated with Congress for the Chandigarh Mayoral elections.
