In the wee hours of the morning, tragedy struck on Gurugram's Basai Road as a speeding car collided with a scooty, leaving the rider, Pankaj, severely injured. Pankaj, who was en route to buy vegetables, found himself at the mercy of a reckless driver whose Ecosport car mercilessly dragged his Activa scooty. The harrowing accident was captured on the nearby showroom's surveillance camera.

Despite sustaining severe injuries, Pankaj managed to alert his family. His sister and mother reached out immediately and admitted him to the hospital.

Police launches manhunt for hit-and-run 

As dawn broke, the authorities were notified. After receiving the information, a team of Gurugram police reached the hospital and recorded Pankaj's statement. Police officials said that the accused will be arrested on the basis of CCTV footage where the number plate of Ford Ecosport can be seen.

Victim expresses his ordeal

Speaking to local media, Pankaj recounted the harrowing moments leading up to the collision, expressing shock at the driver's heartless disregard for human life. Pankaj stated that he used to buy vegetables every day at the same time. When he felt that a speeding car was coming from behind he wanted to step aside, but by then the car rammed into his scooty. After that, he called his sister and mother who took him to hospital. 

This isn't the first time when Gurugram has made headlines due to the hit-and-run case. Numerous similar cases of hit-and-run have been surfaced in the past.
