A police van, having run out of fuel, found itself in a peculiar predicament, with arrested individuals pushing it along the road.

Unconventional response to fuel shortage

In a departure from conventional expectations, the handcuffed men, detained for violating alcohol laws in Bihar, were seen actively involved in pushing the empty police van for approximately 500 meters. Reports suggest that they were instructed to do so by a law enforcement official accompanying them. The video, initially shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the handle 'Jist,' captured the dedication of the detained individuals as they pushed the van under supervision.

Social media reacts with humor and amusement

The incident quickly garnered attention on social media platforms, with users expressing a range of reactions. One user, Sagarcasm, humorously likened the situation to a father requesting his belt on result day, highlighting the unexpectedness of the scenario. Another user, amused by the incident, remarked, "My Bihar never fails to amaze me." The incident also prompted comparisons, with one user drawing parallels to teachers asking students to prepare the question paper.

Official response and ensuing investigation

Acknowledging the unconventional and potentially embarrassing nature of the incident, senior police official Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition Pramodit Narayan Singh assured that necessary actions would be taken. He affirmed that a departmental investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident. Any officer found responsible for the oversight will face stringent disciplinary measures as part of the ongoing internal inquiry.
