New Delhi: A deeply disturbing event unfolded in Kanpur's Rawatpur area on Tuesday evening around 8 PM. An allegedly intoxicated man assaulted a young girl near a liquor shop, with the incident captured on a nearby CCTV camera.

Reports indicate that the girl was on her way home after purchasing vegetables when the man approached and molested her. Despite her protests, the assailant pushed her to the ground. Witnesses began to approach, prompting the man to flee the scene.

The harrowing footage quickly went viral, drawing significant public outrage. The area’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) swiftly arrived at the scene, securing the CCTV footage as evidence. Authorities have since filed a case and detained five individuals for questioning based on the video.
