The waterlogging inside the airport has caused heavy damage to the walls and roofs. District headquarters and parts of neighboring Mainaguri were severely affected, exacerbating the situation.

In response to the crisis, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee promptly dispatched relief efforts to the affected areas. Rescue operations are currently underway, with affected individuals being relocated to safer zones. The CM assured compensation to the families of the deceased and assistance to the injured as per established protocols.

Local authorities and political representatives, including BJP MP Jayanta Kumar Roy, are actively involved in managing the aftermath of the disaster. Roy provided updates on the situation, confirming casualties and injuries reported to medical facilities.
