New Delhi: The search for missing college student Yash Mittal has unveiled a chilling crime scene, with Noida police discovering that four youngsters brutally murdered their friend after a party altercation and buried his body in a field.
Yash Mittal, the son of a prominent businessman and a student at a Noida-based university, vanished from his hostel premises on Monday. His father, Deepak Mittal, raised an alarm after receiving ransom demands amounting to Rs 6 crore for his son's safe return.
Upon scrutinizing CCTV footage from the campus, authorities observed Yash leaving the university while engaged in a phone conversation. Further investigation into his call records led police to his friend Rachit. Upon interrogation, Rachit revealed that Yash frequently socialized with Rachit, Shivam, Sushant and Shubham.

According to senior police officer Saad Miya Khan, on February 26, the group invited Yash to a field in Gajraula, located approximately 100 km away in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha, for a gathering. Amidst the festivities, a confrontation ensued, resulting in Yash's tragic demise. His body was then clandestinely buried in the field, only to be unearthed later at Rachit's identification.
Following leads, police apprehended the other accused in Dadri. Despite attempted evasion, the suspects were subdued by authorities after a confrontation. While three individuals have been detained, one suspect, identified as Shubham, remains at large. Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing his apprehension.
The ransom messages purportedly sent to Yash's family were revealed to be a ruse aimed at diverting attention from the heinous crime. The diligent efforts of multiple police teams led to the eventual revelation of the truth, providing closure to the harrowing ordeal faced by Yash's family.
Heart-wrenching visuals from the field captured the anguish of Yash's parents as his lifeless body was retrieved. Yash, described as a promising student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at an university in Noida, met an untimely demise, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew him.
