Watch: Sabarmati-Agra Train derails in Rajasthan's Ajmer; No casualties reported

Four coaches and the engine of a superfast passenger train was derailed in Rajasthan's Ajmer early on Monday night. Restoration work of the track is underway.

Four coaches of the Sabarmati-Agra Superfast Express train derailed on March 18, at  the Madar Railway Yard in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Coaches and the engine derailed after colliding with a goods train. No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.

According to officials said that four coaches including the engine of Sabarmati-Agra superfast train derailed near Madar railway station. After the news of the accident, the relief team immediately reached the spot. Many passengers have suffered minor injuries. Some passengers spoke to the media and told that the incident happened around 1 o'clock in the night. They were sleeping when suddenly a loud sound reached their ears after which they got scared.

Rescue ops on

The rescue team also includes Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) and senior officers. Efforts are underway to bring the derailed coaches and engines back on track.

Passengers share about the incident

Most of the passengers were sleeping when the accident occurred. Suddenly people got a huge shock. The passengers sleeping on the seats fell down and were frightened. It is being told that after the accident, railway officials reached the spot late due to which resentment was seen among the passengers.
According to media reports, the loco pilot of the train applied emergency brakes. Even after this, Sabarmati Express collided with a goods train.
