New Delhi: In a disturbing turn of events following the announcement of BJP's Lok Sabha candidates, a manipulated video featuring Barabanki MP Upendra Singh Rawat has emerged online, igniting controversy and legal action.
Shortly after the BJP unveiled its initial list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a fabricated video depicting MP Upendra Singh Rawat in a compromising position alongside a foreign woman began circulating on social media platforms. The viral content has stirred widespread outrage and condemnation.
Responding to the offensive material, MP Rawat's personal secretary, Dinesh Chandra Rawat, filed a formal complaint, prompting authorities to lodge an FIR against an unidentified perpetrator. Aditya Tripathi, in-charge of the Kotwali police station, confirmed the initiation of legal proceedings based on the complaint.
The FIR highlights the deliberate attempt to tarnish MP Upendra Singh Rawat's reputation by disseminating a manipulated and objectionable video following his official candidacy declaration by the BJP. The accused individuals responsible for circulating the doctored content face potential legal repercussions for defamation and malicious intent.
In response to the scandalous video, MP Upendra Singh Rawat vehemently refuted its authenticity, attributing the malicious act to political adversaries seeking to undermine his candidacy. He categorically stated, "As soon as I received the party's ticket from Barabanki, my opponents orchestrated this act," vehemently denying any involvement in the fabricated video.
The emergence of the scandalous video underscores the volatile nature of political campaigning and the susceptibility of public figures to targeted defamation and character assassination. As legal proceedings unfold, the pursuit of truth and justice remains paramount in addressing such egregious acts of slander and misinformation.
