Jamshedpur Encounter : A criminal carrying a bounty of Rs 2.5 lakh was killed in an encounter in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Police gave this information on Saturday. Additional Director General of Police (UP Special Task Force, Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said, "Mukhtar gang shooter Anuj Kannaujia was killed in a heavy shootout with a joint team of UP STF and Jharkhand Police in Jamshedpur.

Anuj Kannaujia, a shooter of Uttar Pradesh's Mukhtar gang, was killed in an encounter in Jamshedpur. This incident took place late Saturday night near Bhumihar Sadan in Govindpur, Jamshedpur. Where a joint team of Uttar Pradesh STF (Gorakhpur unit) and Jharkhand police surrounded the notorious shooter. After this, there was heavy firing from both sides, Anuj Kannaujia was killed by the police in the encounter.

Anuj was living in hiding in Jamshedpur for a long time

UP police had put a bounty of Rs 2.5 lakh on Anuj and the police was looking for him in several serious cases. Police have recovered weapons and other objectionable items from the spot. Several cases were registered against Anuj in Ghazipur, Mau and other districts. He was living in hiding in Jamshedpur for a long time. Senior police officer said that 23 cases are registered against Kanaujia in various police stations of Mau, Ghazipur and Azamgarh districts.

 

During the encounter, 60 to 70 rounds of bullets were fired from both sides

On Saturday night, the police reached his hideout, which was surrounded by police from all sides. Meanwhile, the criminal opened fire from inside the house. The bullet hit an STF officer, in response to which the STF also took action. Officials said that STF Deputy Superintendent of Police DK Shahi, who was leading the team, was shot. 60 to 70 rounds of bullets were fired from both sides, in which Anuj was killed.
