A day after the Supreme Court said that bulldozing houses of the accused cannot be used a punitive tool; Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated his stance on the controversial bulldozer policy.

Speaking at an event on Wednesday, where he handed over joining letters to 1,334 UPSSSC candidates, Adityanath emphasized that operating the bulldozer requires not just strength but also intelligence. “Only a person who has the capacity and determination of a bulldozer can operate a bulldozer...People who rub their noses in front of rioters will be crushed in front of bulldozers in the same way...,” he stated, underlining the policy’s role in maintaining law and order.

Targeting Opposition Leaders

Adityanath used the occasion to launch a sharp critique against the Samajwadi Party (SP) leadership, particularly focusing on former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle, Shivpal Yadav. He drew an analogy between the current chaos caused by wolves and the corruption he alleges was perpetuated by the Yadavs. “Just as wolves cause disruption, Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav were responsible for escalating corruption in the state,” he said, accusing them of exacerbating the issues of misgovernance.

Speaking further, the Chief Minister also highlighted the achievements of his administration. He praised the double-engine government for its capability to distribute pensions to over one crore families, attributing this success to the financial stability and effective governance of the state.

“Donations are not made by begging,” Adityanath remarked, implying that his government’s achievements are not the result of seeking alms but of solid administrative capability. He criticized those who he claims dream of becoming influential figures like Tipu Sultan, labeling such aspirations as unrealistic and disconnected from the realities of governance.
