Another shocking incident happened on the IndiGo flight. This time a passenger aboard flight 6E-457, heading from Guwahati to Agarta with 180 passengers, tried to open the emergency exit door mid-air, and was later arrested.

Passenger abroad IndiGo flight tries to open emergency exit mid-air

Reportedly, a man sitting next to the emergency door of the plane tried to open it while the flight was mid-air. Another passenger next to him tried to stop him but he kept trying to open the door.

Immediately, the crew members rushed to stop him, still, he continued to put his efforts into opening the emergency exit. Amid this, panic ensued on the flight and fellow passengers dragged him towards the seat in order to stop him.

The video of the shocking incident has surfaced all over the internet now.

Under influence of narcotic tablets: Probe report

The man, identified as Biswajit Debnath, was nabbed as soon as the IndiGo flight landed in Agartala. According to the preliminary investigation, Debnath was under the influence of narcotic tablets.

Reacting to this chaos, IndiGo Airlines released a statement, saying, “As per the Standard Operating Procedure, the passenger was declared unruly by the crew and handed over to the local authorities on arrival. At no point was the safety of the flight compromised. We regret any inconvenience caused to the other passengers.”

Similar incident on IndiGo flight

Notably, this incident comes a day after a passenger onboard a Chennai-bound IndiGo flight attempted to open the emergency door of the plane early on Wednesday.

The passenger was identified as Manikandan and was handed over to the officials of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on arrival at the Chennai airport.
