NADA Notice To Vinesh Phogat: With just a few days left until the Haryana Assembly elections, wrestler Vinesh Phogat is busy campaigning. However, her focus is diverted as the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has issued a notice to her for failing to provide accurate information about her residence. NADA has mandated that she submit her response within 14 days. The agency highlighted that Phogat did not inform them about her whereabouts, which led to her absence during a doping test scheduled at her home in Kharkhoda village, Sonipat, on September 9.
NADA's notice states that Phogat has failed to comply with anti-doping regulations by not providing accurate details about her living location. A Doping Control Officer (DCO) was dispatched to conduct the doping test at the address on file, but was unable to do so due to Phogat’s absence. The agency has emphasized that this notice is a requirement to inform her about the breach of rules regarding the submission of residence information and to seek her explanation before making a final decision on the matter.
All athletes registered under NADA’s Registered Testing Pool (RTP) are obligated to inform the agency of their availability for doping tests. If an athlete is not present at the location provided, it is regarded as a failure to report residence. Furthermore, if an athlete fails to comply with this requirement three times within a 12-month period, they may face charges from NADA. Vinesh Phogat must either acknowledge this violation or prove that she was present at the specified location for at least 60 minutes.
The implications of NADA's notice could affect Vinesh Phogat's career as she navigates the political landscape while also addressing her compliance with doping regulations. With significant events on the horizon, the outcome of this situation will be closely monitored by her supporters and critics alike.
