Amid the ongoing rescue operation of 41 construction workers who have been trapped inside a collapsed portion of the under-construction Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi for over two weeks now. The IAF issued a media release that said that the Indian Air Force (IAF) flew in critical DRDO equipment to continue the rescue operation without another delay. Meanwhile, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has intervened to provide the workers stuck in the Silkyara tunnel with a landline so they may communicate with their families, thereby relieving some of their stress and anxiety.A BSNL official confirmed that they are currently using the pipeline that was put in to get the stranded workers out to send a little landline phone to them. He said, Through this, they will be able to talk directly to their families.The tunnel caved on November 12, collapsed in the 60-meter stretch Silkyara side of the tunnel trapped 41 laborers inside the under-construction structure.
