Uttarakhand visit: PM Modi offer prayers at winter seat of Ganga in Mukhwa

On Thursday PM Modi visited Uttarakhand where Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami received him at the airport. The Prime Minister performs devotional rituals followed by sanctified views at Mukhwa where the Ganga River has its winter sanctuary. The public trek and bike rally will start at 10:40 am and then PM Modi will deliver a speech during the public event in Harsil.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm ceremony at Jolly Grant Airport when Dhami officially greeted the respected leader on his arrival in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. I have the opportunity to worship Maa Ganga in Mukhwa during the morning of tomorrow starting at 9:30 am. Following the visit I will use communication to reach my Harsil family members. The forthcoming tour to Mukhwa holds immense enthusiasm for me as I plan to see the sacred winter residence of Maa Ganga. All across the world people recognize this sacred site because of its spiritual value and its beautiful charm. Not only that but it demonstrates our commitment to maintain both a state of preservation and advancement according to our national directive of 'heritage as well as development'," Modi expressed in his social media post written in Hindi.

First Winter Tourism program

The Uttarakhand government commenced its first Winter Tourism program for the current year. Thousands of religious visitors have already made their way to Gangotri and Yamunotri along with Kedarnath and Badrinath during their wintertime. Under this program religious tourism promotion together with economic growth support for local businesses like homestays and tourism sector companies plays a key role.
