Crime News: A gathering among friends turned tragic when a dispute escalated into a brutal murder. A group of youths killed their friend during a drinking session and fled from the scene after throwing his body into bushes.The incident occurred near a parking lot in Lambgaon, where the dead body of 27-year-old Gaurav was discovered. He was resident of Delhi. The police, upon receiving notification, arrived at the scene and secured the body. After conducting initial investigations, the body was transported to the district hospital in New Tehri for post-mortem examination.How did it happenAccording to SHO Shanti Prasad Chamoli, the contractor of an under-construction building in Nagar Panchayat Lambgaon informed the police about the incident. The contractor reported that four of his laborers, including the victim, had been absent from work since July 13. It was later revealed that the laborers traveled to Uttarkashi for personal reasons.Contractor reveals truthOn the night of July 12, one of the laborers called the contractors over the phone that a colleague had been murdered and his body dumped near the parking area. The contractor called the police after the victims body was discovered the next morning.During the preliminary investigation, police observed minor injuries on the victims face. In response to the contractors complaint, a murder case was registered against three accused laborers—Ranjan, Samrat, and Rakhal—under relevant sections of the law. The deceaseds body has been sent for forensic examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.Tragic turn of eventsDetails emerged that a dispute arose among the workers after consuming alcohol, which led to the fatal fight. The accused, following the incident, fled to Uttarkashi and later to Delhi.
