In a significant move to secure the future of Agniveers, the Uttarakhand government is finalizing a robust program to employ them in state police and other government departments. Under the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this initiative aims to ensure that soldiers who complete their four-year tenure in the army can seamlessly transition into civilian roles within the state. The plan also includes a comprehensive skill development scheme to provide these retired soldiers with job-related training in various fields.

Employment Opportunities for Agniveers

Chief Minister Dhami has instructed officials to prepare proposals for reserving quotas for Agniveers in Uttarakhand Police and other state departments. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to offer stable employment opportunities to those who have served the nation. In addition to job placements, the state plans to implement skill training programs to equip Agniveers with the necessary tools for diverse employment opportunities. This holistic approach aims to integrate Agniveers into the state's workforce, ensuring they continue to contribute to society after their military service.

Chief Minister's Commitment to Soldier Welfare

CM Dhami, himself from a military family, emphasized the importance of this initiative during an informal conversation with the media. He stated that Uttarakhand, known for its large number of soldiers, is committed to supporting its veterans. The government intends to leave no stone unturned in providing employment and career opportunities for Agniveers after their four-year service. The Chief Minister also highlighted that the state is ready to make legislative changes, including reservations and potential acts, to facilitate the integration of Agniveers into various departments.

The program doesn't stop at job placements. It includes a skill development plan designed to provide retired Agniveers with employment-related training in multiple fields. This training will enable them to acquire new skills and adapt to civilian jobs efficiently. The Sainik Kalyan Vibhag (Soldier Welfare Department) is actively working on preparing these proposals to ensure that every Agniveer is given ample opportunity to secure a stable and prosperous future.
