New Delhi: A shocking case has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Noida where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle. Sector-39 police in Noida have arrested a teenage girl's maternal uncle in connection with charges of rape and pregnancy on Monday. The accused had kidnapped the teenager a month ago.
Upon recovering the girl and conducting a medical examination, authorities discovered that she was pregnant. Consequently, the police updated the FIR to include charges of rape and have placed the accused in judicial custody.
ACP Praveen Kumar Singh said that on June 30, a person filed a report at the police station claiming that his 16-year-old daughter was missing. Following an investigation, the police located the girl on Sunday near the Sector-37 bus stand based on the received information.
During interrogation, the teenager revealed that her maternal uncle, Saurabh had kidnapped her. Saurabh, a resident of Gurugram, is the maternal cousin of the victim's mother and therefore her maternal uncle. The medical examination confirmed that the teenager was pregnant.
Recently, in Noida, police have arrested Chaman Chauhan from village Baraula, identified as the man who molested a female architect in Sector-48. The arrest followed a complaint filed on August 3, where the victim reported the incident that occurred on July 31.
The architect, who was heading home from work amid heavy rain, encountered Chauhan near her residence. After reaching a park to bathe in the rain, Chauhan, who had been following her, attacked. He pushed her, tore her clothes and began to assault her until two girls arrived, causing him to flee. Chauhan was presented in court on Monday and remanded to judicial custody.
