Crime News: In a shocking incident in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a tea seller was brutally murdered in broad daylight on Sunday. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Rohit from Dhikoli Colony in Mawana, was attacked near the Kila-Parikshitgarh bus stand by four assailants. The attackers targeted Rohit after he refused to provide them with a polythene bag.
The confrontation occurred around 4 PM when the four youths arrived at the tea stall on a motorcycle. An argument erupted when Rohit declined their request for a polythene bag. The youths responded by violently attacking Rohit, slitting his throat with a knife and stabbing him multiple times. Despite their attempts to flee, local residents managed to capture one of the assailants while the others escaped.
Emergency services rushed Rohit to a hospital in Meerut, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The murder sparked outrage in the community, leading to market closures and roadblocks. Locals, distressed by the violence, blocked roads outside the police station, demanding swift justice.
The situation prompted a significant police response, with SP Crime Avnish Kumar, CO Mawana, and SDM arriving on the scene with forces from four police stations. The police are actively searching for the three remaining suspects, believed to be from Boharpur village in Mawana. Raids are underway to apprehend them and bring them to justice.
