Huge damage due to thunderstorms and rains in Uttar Pradesh, 22 people died so far, CM Yogi announced compensation

At least 20 people were killed and several others injured in thunderstorms and thunderstorms in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, officials said. Hailstorm and strong winds caused heavy damage to crops in many districts. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced financial assistance of Rs 4-4 lakh to the families of the deceased.

22 people died in thunderstorms off UP (File )

Uttar Pradesh: On Wednesday evening, the weather took a sudden turn in Uttar Pradesh. Several districts witnessed heavy rains, thunderstorms and hailstorms. From Saharanpur to Lalitpur, hailstorm also fell along with rain. So far 22 people have lost their lives in the state due to this bad weather. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

Crop damage due to flooding in fields

Due to heavy rains, the fields have been flooded, due to which the standing wheat crop is in danger of rotting. The Meteorological Department says that the weather may remain bad for the next 24 to 48 hours. There is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunderstorms.

  • 3 cattle killed in fire in Fatehpur

Damage to houses

  • Two houses each damaged in Ghazipur, Sultanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri
  • One house each was damaged in Ballia, Gonda, Barabanki, Ambedkar Nagar, Gorakhpur, Auraiya, Hardoi, Lucknow and Mau

The Chief Minister gave instructions for help

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the families of those killed in the calamity. He said that there should not be any negligence in giving compensation, otherwise strict action will be taken against the responsible officers. He also asked for proper treatment of the injured and financial assistance to those whose animals have died.

  • For Small Milch Animal: ₹4,000
  • For Large Non-Milch Animal: ₹32,000
  • For Small Non-Milch Animal: ₹20,000
