The unsettling sequence of events began on July 4, when the body of a young girl was discovered in the Besav River, which flows between Jamdahan and Jhaansepur villages in the Mustafabad area. Despite efforts to identify the deceased on the scene, the police were unsuccessful. The following day, a local resident from Mustafabad came forward to identify the body as that of his 20-year-old daughter.

Twist in the tale

In a dramatic turn of events on Monday, the daughter, who had been presumed dead, was found alive in Prayagraj alongside her boyfriend. She had fled with her partner, knowing that her family would disapprove of their relationship. The discovery led to her being taken into police custody for questioning.

The young woman revealed that she had left her home of her own volition, driven by the fear of familial rejection. The police are now scrutinizing the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and the subsequent burial of the unidentified body.
