New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, a young man consumed poison inside a police station after his sister insisted on marrying her lover from another community. The incident took place in the Bariyarpur police station area, where the brother, along with his mother, had gone to persuade the girl to reconsider her decision.

Sister's determination leads to tragic consequences

The girl, who hails from a village in the Bariyarpur police station area, had expressed her desire to marry a young man from another community. Her family was unaware of her relationship and had already arranged her marriage to someone else, with the wedding date set for November. When the girl saw the preparations for her arranged marriage, she became distressed and revealed her relationship to her family, insisting on marrying her boyfriend.

Brother's desperate act

The girl's brother and mother followed her to the police station in an attempt to convince her to abandon her decision. Despite their efforts, the girl remained adamant about marrying her boyfriend. In a desperate and shocking move, the brother consumed poison in front of everyone at the police station, causing panic among the officers present. He was immediately rushed to the medical college in Deoria, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Police involvement

Following the incident, CO Salempur Deepak Shukla visited the hospital to check on the young man's condition. The police have detained the girl and her boyfriend at the station, and efforts are ongoing to resolve the situation. According to CO Shukla, the girl's condition remains firm, and she continues to insist on marrying her lover from another community. Fortunately, the brother's condition is now stable.
