UP News: In the Nagfani police station area of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, two alarming incidents have recently come to light, both involving blackmail, defamation, and sexual exploitation of women by individuals close to them. The cases have sparked outrage, as police intensify efforts to bring the accused to justice.

Woman Drugged, Blackmailed, and Extorted by Relative in Nagfani

A woman in Moradabad’s Nagfani area has accused a relative of assault, blackmail, and extortion while her husband was away working in Kerala. According to her statement to police, the accused, identified as Wahabuddin, a resident of Nawabpura, allegedly drugged her by mixing intoxicants in shikanji (lemonade) before assaulting her. He then secretly filmed and photographed the attack, later using the material to blackmail her into maintaining a physical relationship with him and extorting money.

The victim told police that she trusted Wahabuddin, especially since she had been helping his ailing mother by preparing meals. However, taking advantage of her trust and her husband’s absence, he allegedly committed the assault and threatened to release the compromising materials online if she refused to comply with his demands. Over time, he reportedly extorted a total of Rs 3.7 lakh from her. When she refused to provide any further funds, he allegedly sent the explicit photos and videos to her husband in Kerala. Nagfani police have registered a formal complaint, and Inspector Nagfani confirmed that an active search for Wahabuddin is underway.

Husband Demands Dowry Car, Defames Wife Online in Civil Lines Case

In a separate case reported in the Civil Lines area of Moradabad, another woman has filed a complaint against her husband, Ashfi Siddiqui, whom she married on November 1, 2022. Originally from Bijnor, Siddiqui allegedly began harassing her soon after their marriage, demanding a luxury car as dowry. When his demands were not met, he reportedly intensified his mistreatment, threatening to move abroad if his dowry requirements remained unfulfilled.

The victim further claimed that she later discovered Siddiqui was involved in an extramarital relationship and had only married her under family pressure. She alleges that when she refused to meet his dowry demands, Siddiqui publicly shared obscene photos of her on social media, causing immense emotional distress and defamation. She admitted that this public humiliation drove her to thoughts of suicide. Inspector Civil Lines Manish Saxena confirmed that a case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress.

Both cases highlight the grave issue of domestic exploitation and the need for strict action against blackmail and defamation. Local authorities are actively investigating, with promises of swift justice for the victims.
