Viral Video: A disturbing incident from Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, came to light on Sunday, where a truck driver was brutally assaulted by locals. A video capturing the attack has been widely circulated on social media, showing three men relentlessly beating the driver. The attackers slapped, punched, and kicked the driver, even dragging him by his hair along the road. Shockingly, numerous bystanders passed by but did not intervene, allowing the attackers to continue their assault unabated.

Bystanders fail to intervene

The incident occurred beside a busy road, yet the bystanders chose not to get involved. The attackers showed no signs of stopping as they continued to beat the driver, showcasing a brutal display of aggression and violence.

Viral video sparks outrage

The video of the incident was posted on social media platform X by user Nishantjournali. Along with the video, he captioned it: "Criminals are out of control in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh! Criminals brutally beat up a truck driver near the railway crossing in the Sadar Kotwali area, looted him, and made a video and made it viral on social media, no action has been taken till date?" The post quickly gained traction, drawing widespread outrage and calls for justice.

Appeal for immediate action

In his post, Nishantjournali tagged both Deoria Police and UP Police, urging them to take immediate and decisive action against the perpetrators. The graphic nature of the video and the apparent lawlessness depicted raised serious concerns about public safety and the efficacy of law enforcement in the region.

Police response

Responding to the viral post, Deoria Police issued a statement on social media. They assured the public that the case had been referred to the Inspector-in-charge of Kotwali for investigation and necessary action. The police statement read: "The case was sent to Inspector-in-charge Kotwali for investigation and necessary action."
