UP News: On Tuesday, the lifeless body of a 20-year-old woman was found in a garden near the petrol pump in village Nikasua, Fatehganj East, Bareilly. The half-naked body, discovered in the garden of Rajkumar Eucalyptus near the road to Bakarganj village, bore brutal signs of assault. Her throat had been slit with a sharp weapon, and her cheek showed visible injury marks.

Immediate Police Action and Investigation

The shocking incident was reported to the authorities by Manoj, the nephew of the village head. Upon receiving the call, Fatehganj East Inspector Santosh Singh, CO Faridpur Ashutosh Shivam, and Police Station In-charge Santosh Kumar rushed to the scene. Senior police officials, including SSP Anurag Arya and SP North Mukesh Chandra Mishra, also reached the site. A forensic team was summoned to gather evidence while police tried to identify the victim with the help of locals, but no immediate identification was made. The body was sent for postmortem.

Postmortem Reveals Harrowing Details

On Wednesday, a panel of three doctors conducted a postmortem, which was meticulously videographed, and slides were prepared for further analysis. The findings confirmed that the woman was sexually assaulted before her throat was brutally slit.

Efforts to Identify the Victim Continue

With no initial leads, the police began checking records of missing women across neighboring areas, including Shahjahanpur's Katra and Faridpur police stations. Officers are now contacting families listed in the missing persons’ records to identify the victim and aid the investigation. The horrifying incident has sent shockwaves across the region, highlighting the pressing need for vigilance and stronger measures to ensure women’s safety. Authorities are working tirelessly to solve the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.
