New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Lucknow, a young woman from Kanpur was brutally gang-raped in a moving Scorpio after being lured to the city by a man she met on Instagram. The girl, who traveled to Lucknow on Thursday to meet Vinay Singh, her Instagram friend, was subjected to a horrifying ordeal after being drugged by him and two of his associates.According to the police, the girl was offered a cold drink laced with intoxicants while being driven around the city by Vinay and two other men, Vipin Singh and Inam Singh. After consuming the drink, the girl lost consciousness, and the three men took turns raping her inside the moving vehicle as they headed towards Barabanki Road.FIR and the issue Following the assault, the girl was taken to a hotel in Chinhat, where the abuse continued. She was physically assaulted and threatened when she regained consciousness and attempted to resist. Seizing an opportunity, the girl escaped and reached the Chinhat police station, where she lodged an FIR against the perpetrators.The police, acting swiftly on her complaint, used CCTV footage to identify and apprehend two of the suspects, Vipin Singh and Inam Singh. The third suspect, Vinay Singh, is currently on the run, and a search operation is underway to locate him. Inspector Ashwini Chaturvedi of Chinhat police station confirmed the arrests and assured that the investigation is progressing rapidly to bring all involved to justice.
