The bride, married to Jagjit Pal in May 2023, initially dismissed his reluctance as fatigue. However, his consistent refusal to engage led her to suspect deeper issues. On confronting him, she discovered the affair and, after addressing the issue with her in-laws, faced alleged dowry harassment and abuse. Forced to leave her marital home, she has since filed a complaint with local authorities.Husbands Affair and NeglectThe victim reports that her husband avoided all forms of intimacy since their wedding night. “I thought it was exhaustion at first,” she stated. However, his avoidance continued for months, sparking arguments and raising her suspicions. After uncovering his affair, she approached her in-laws, hoping to resolve the issue.Allegations of Dowry Harassment and AbuseAccording to the victim, her in-laws began to harass her for dowry following her confrontation with her husband. She alleges they subjected her to mental and emotional torment, demanding monetary contributions. On August 17, 2024, she was reportedly beaten and expelled from her marital home.The Gopiganj Police Station has registered a case against the husband and his family on charges of harassment and abuse. The local Superintendent of Police has assured a thorough investigation, with additional charges pending based on findings.
