UP News: In a shocking incident in the Bhondari area of Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, a wedding ceremony took an unexpected turn when a brawl broke out between the groom's party (baraatis) and the bride's family. The unruly behavior of some intoxicated baraatis led to an altercation, disrupting the ongoing jaimala ceremony and resulting in the baraat leaving without the bride.

Fight Erupts During Jaimala Ceremony

The wedding procession had traveled from Sohawa in Unnao to celebrate the union of a farmer’s daughter in Lucknow. The festivities began with a warm welcome for the baraat, followed by the traditional jaimala ritual. However, as the bride and groom exchanged garlands on stage, an argument among the baraatis escalated into a full-blown fight.

Witnesses allege that several baraatis were heavily intoxicated and began arguing over the food arrangements. The argument soon spiraled into vandalism, with baraatis reportedly damaging property and assaulting members of the bride's family. Attempting to intervene, the groom shockingly broke the jaimala, jumped off the stage, and joined the fight. In the chaos, the bride fell off the stage and sustained minor injuries.

Police Intervene but to No Avail

The commotion prompted an emergency call to the police, who arrived to restore order. Despite their efforts, neither party was willing to resolve the matter. The groom’s side accused the bride's family of pelting stones and damaging the groom’s car, while the bride’s side blamed the drunken baraatis for the chaos.

With tensions running high, the baraat eventually left without completing the marriage rituals. Both parties declined to file formal complaints with the police. The incident has since become the talk of the town, sparking discussions on the mishap and the consequences of unruly behavior at weddings.
