Crime News: A female constable from Gonda has made grave accusations against her constable husband and in-laws, alleging heinous crimes including rape, dowry harassment, and attempted murder. Acting on her complaint, the police have registered a case under several serious sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The victim reported that after filing a complaint against the accused constable on August 11, 2022, he married her in a temple in Karnailganj to avoid legal consequences for crimes like rape and foeticide. Later, in November 2022, a formal wedding ceremony was conducted following social customs, during which her father gave a car, five lakh rupees, and other valuables as dowry.
Despite the marriage, the victim alleges that the harassment persisted. In December 2023, she was reportedly thrown off the roof of her house by her husband and in-laws, resulting in a broken hand and fractured jaw. Following the incident, she was abandoned at her maternal home.
In another shocking claim, the victim stated that in August 2024, when she visited her in-laws’ house, her husband’s brother sexually assaulted her. She also accused her husband and his family of making repeated demands for money and abandoning her after she became pregnant.
City Kotwal Manoj Pathak confirmed that the police have registered a case based on the victim's complaint and are pursuing further legal action. The case highlights alarming allegations of physical and sexual abuse, dowry demands, and attempted murder within the sanctity of marriage.
