UP: Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derails in Gonda, four dead, several injured

New Delhi: The Chandigarh-Dibrugarh express train derailed today near Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, involving at least four cars. The incident happened at Pikaura, an Uttar Pradesh town situated halfway between Gonda and Jhilahi. As per official reports, four passengers passed away in the accident and several were left injured.

For relief efforts, a rescue crew has been dispatched to the location. Images show passengers with their bags stacked on the sides of the track, and there are reports of some injuries. The AC compartment had four coaches that derailed a short distance before the Jhulahi railway station. The Railway ministry has issued official helpline numbers for the accident in Gonda.
