UP: BJP MP felicitates Sanjay Saroj, accused in terror funding case, SP claims

Sanjay Saroj is one name that is currently being discussed in Uttar Pradesh politics. The leader of the Samajwadi Party, IP Singh, has blasted the BJP over this. The leader of the SP, IP Singh, charged the BJP, claiming that the BJP MP had praised terrorist financier Sanjay Saroj by inviting him to the platform.

Let us inform you that Sanjay Saroj was jailed in March 2018 after being detained by the ATS in connection with a terror funding investigation. Ten persons were detained by UP ATS on suspicion of having ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Following this, Sanjay Saroj was released on bail and started participating in politics. The spouse of Sanjay Singh ran an independent campaign for the women's chairman post and was elected.

Sanjay began his political career with the SP and attempted to obtain a ticket for the chairmanship; however, the party rejected him due to an issue pertaining to the support of terrorism. Neelam ran as an independent because it was a women's seat, and she won the chairmanship. Speaking about the BJP candidate's move, Manish Pal, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, claims that although the party claims to support nationalism, admitting someone who has funded terrorism into the fold, it is portraying a positive picture to the public.
