UP News: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a woman in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly beaten nearly to death by her husband in an attempt to end their marriage. The incident occurred in the Mamura area, where Azim, the accused husband, reportedly assaulted his wife, Tarannum, who was determined to save their relationship despite ongoing challenges. Tarannum’s father, Raisuddin, lodged a formal complaint against Azim and her mother-in-law at the Phase-3 police station, seeking justice for his daughter.

Long-Standing Family Conflict Escalates to Violence

According to Raisuddin, a resident of Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad, Tarannum and Azim had been married for five years but faced ongoing harassment from Azim and his family. A case related to this harassment is already pending in Ghaziabad’s district court. Despite the challenges, Tarannum had been making efforts to reconcile with her husband. On September 20, she visited her husband’s home in Mamura to try and resolve their issues, but instead, she became a victim of a brutal attack by Azim and her mother-in-law.

Attempt to Reconcile Ends in Tragedy

Raisuddin shared that his daughter had been living at her parental home for some time due to ongoing harassment. However, in a bid to save her marriage, Tarannum returned to her in-laws' residence, hoping to talk things through with her husband. Upon arrival, she was allegedly confronted and violently assaulted by Azim and his mother. Severely injured, she was taken to a district hospital in Ghaziabad, where she is currently receiving medical treatment. “My daughter went there only to mend things,” said Raisuddin. “But they beat her mercilessly.”

Police File Case Against Husband and Mother-In-Law

Following the incident, the police have launched an investigation based on Raisuddin’s complaint. According to law enforcement officials, a formal case has been filed against Azim and his mother. "We have registered the case based on the father's complaint, and an investigation is ongoing," a police representative stated, adding that further action will be determined once more evidence is gathered.
