UP: 15 pilgrims die as tractor falls into pond in Kasganj

At least 15 people were killed after a tractor-trolley overturned in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday after a tractor-trolly carrying devotees who were on their way for holy bath on the occassion of Magh Purnima.

What happened exactly? 

The tractor-trolley, carrying the villagers, overturned into the pond, which was filled with mud-laden water. According to the driver of the tractor lost control while attempting to avoid a collision with a car on the road. However, after the tragic incident, the survivors have been rushed to the district hospital in Kasganj. 

CM Yogi annnouces Rs 2 lakh to deceased families

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath expressed profound sorrow over the incident, and extended his condolences to the families of the victims. He announced ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next of family of the deceased and fifty thousands for the injured.
