In response to the recent Income Tax raids on his premises, Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, a Congress MP, has broken his silence, stating that the substantial amount of money uncovered has no connections with the Congress party or any political entity.

Money Matters: Liquor Business Revelation

Speaking out for the first time since the raids, Sahu acknowledged the recovery of a significant sum but clarified that the money is linked to his liquor businesses. He disclosed, "The cash that has been recovered is related to my liquor firms; it is the proceeds from the sale of liquor."

Decades in Business: Liquor Transactions in Cash

Highlighting his family's long-standing involvement in the liquor business, spanning over 100 years, Sahu emphasised that transactions in the liquor industry are typically conducted in cash. He underlined, "You may also know that transactions in the liquor business are done in cash only."

Congress Clarity: Distancing from Controversial Cash

Sahu vehemently asserted that the seized money has no affiliation with the Congress party or any other political group. He stated, "This money has nothing to do with Congress or any other political party as is being said...The money is not all mine; it belongs to my family and other related firms."

Deferring Judgment to Tax Authorities

Responding to the BJP's claim of the cash being 'black money,' Sahu deferred judgment to the Income Tax Department, stating, "Let the Income Tax Department decide whether it is 'Kaala Dhan' or 'Safed Dhan'."

Facing Scrutiny: Assuring Accountability

While facing scrutiny over the substantial cash haul, Sahu expressed confidence in providing a detailed account of everything. He clarified, "I don't know how people are viewing this, but I can confidently say that this money has nothing to do with Congress or any other political party."

IT Raid Fallout: Mega Cash Haul and Congress Distancing

Income tax officials concluded a raid at Dhiraj Sahu's premises, leading to the recovery of Rs 351 crore in cash. The Congress party distanced itself from the cash haul, asserting that only Sahu can explain the money recovered from the premises linked to him.

As the rupees riddle unfolds, Sahu's revelations aim to clarify the association of the seized funds with his family's long-established liquor business rather than any political affiliations.
