Less than two hours after Delhi registered the nations highest-ever temperature of 52.3 degrees Celsius, residents of the national capital were relieved to see showers arrive. In spite of the intense heat, the showers should bring the temperature down. It goes without saying that people are surprised by this abrupt change in the weather. Completely biased.Delhi Sees Its Highest Temperature EverAccording to officials, the maximum temperature recorded in Delhis Mungeshpur neighborhood on Wednesday was 52.3 degrees Celsius, the highest ever recorded in the capital.The northwest Delhi localitys weather station recorded 49.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This is the highest maximum temperature ever recorded in Delhi, an IMD official informed by sources.According to power discom officials, the citys peak electricity demand reached an all-time high of 8,302 MW on Wednesday at 15:36:32 hours due to the high temperatures. For the first time in its history, the national capitals power consumption has surpassed 8,300 megawatts. Power distribution providers predicted that this summers demand will peak at 8,200 MW.
