Many expressed their astonishment and happiness by posting images and videos of rain and cloudy sky on X, the former Twitter.

A user posted a composite of two pictures, one with gusting winds and the other with the temperature at 53 degrees, and commented, "Within hours, the weather has completely changed." Within two hours, it went from 53°C to rain! Completely biased.

Delhi Sees Its Highest Temperature Ever

According to officials, the maximum temperature recorded in Delhi's Mungeshpur neighborhood on Wednesday was 52.3 degrees Celsius, the highest ever recorded in the capital.The northwest Delhi locality's weather station recorded 49.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This is the highest maximum temperature ever recorded in Delhi, an IMD official informed by sources.

According to power discom officials, the city's peak electricity demand reached an all-time high of 8,302 MW on Wednesday at 15:36:32 hours due to the high temperatures. For the first time in its history, the national capital's power consumption has surpassed 8,300 megawatts. Power distribution providers predicted that this summer's demand will peak at 8,200 MW.
