New Delhi: A chilling event unfolded in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, late Thursday night, where a domestic quarrel escalated into a fatal tragedy. A husband, in a fit of rage, strangled his wife to death, leaving their children locked in a room before fleeing the scene. The childrens desperate cries to spare their mother went unheard, highlighting the brutality of the act. The following morning, neighbors rescued the children and alerted the authorities. An FIR has been filed based on the victims mothers complaint.The heartbreaking incident occurred in the Tophkhana neighborhood of the Purwa Kotwali area. Abdul Khaliq had married his daughter, Hina, to Asif, son of Munna from Para in the Mourawan region, ten years ago. The couple had two children, three-year-old Aakib and seven-year-old Shifa.Late at night, a heated argument erupted between Hina and Asif, disturbing the childrens sleep. Asif locked the children in a room and took Hina to the veranda, where he began to assault her. The children, witnessing the violence through a window, pleaded with their father to stop, but to no avail. Asif strangled Hina with a dupatta and fled the house, leaving the children locked up all night.Investigation UnderwayOn Friday morning, a neighbour named Amad came to the house and was horrified by the scene. He unlocked the door, freeing the children, and informed Hinas parents and the police about the incident. Authorities have since launched a manhunt for Asif, who remains at large.The police are investigating the case, trying to uncover the motive behind the fatal altercation. The community remains in shock as they come to terms with the brutal killing and the traumatic experience endured by the young children.
