The central government has launched a 3-day ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative on August 13 in response to PM Modi‘s recommendation. In his Mann ki Baat, Modi had urged citizens to start raising the flag in their homes on August 13 till Independence Day.

On Friday morning, starting from Pragati Maidan to Kartavya Path in Delhi, ministers and MPs participated in the Tiranga Yatra, a bike rally, to kick off the event. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar flagged off Tiranga Yatra bike rally.

“Taking the concept of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ to the next level and further to the call of Prime Minister Modi, MPs will participate in a bike rally from Pragati Maidan to Major Dhyan Chand Stadium,” Union culture minister G Kishan Reddy said. “I have invited all the MPs to participate in the yatra. We are appealing to the people to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme and hoist the national flag for three days from August 13 to August 15.”

Union Minister Anurag Thakur also participated in the event.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said, “Every citizen should display the tricolour in their homes on 15 August and 26 January. This is the duty of the citizens. This year 15 August is special because it marks the conclusion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’…”
