A heart-wrenching incident has surfaced from Kolkata, where a 52-year-old woman has reportedly spent three days with her daughters dead body in an attempt to feed and talk to her. The incident happened in Baranagar. It came to light when some neighbors expressed concerns and asked the police to intervene.Soon after getting the information, police reached the site and removed the decomposed body of the girl, following which the woman passed away due to trauma.According to the media sources, the woman has been identified as Debi Bhowmik, who has been residing with her daughter in Lalbari apartment since 2006, following her divorce from her husband. Some of the neighbors revealed that the woman and her daughter were residing in the apartment with her parents but both passed away during Covid-19. Since then, all the neighbors have been helping them financially in an attempt to make them survive.How did neighbors find that something was wrongAfter getting a foul smell from the house, the neighbors knocked on the door. Debi opened the door and led them to put her daughters body on the bed in a decomposed state. Despite convincing her, Debi was adamant that her daughter was alive and did not eat anything in the past three days. According to police officials, the woman was suffering from schizophrenia, which is a serious mental illness that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. The situation can be distressing for self and family members.Meanwhile, police sent the body for autopsy procedure.
