Mumbai residents experience some annoyance from the city's rains, but when man-made problems are added, things can get worse and more bothersome. A video has gone viral on the internet that shows passengers crossing the exposed connecting bridge that connects the WEH Metro station with Gundavali in Andheri when it is raining.
In the video, commuters are seen strolling across the bridge while using umbrellas despite the light rain. There is rainwater visible on the marble flooring of the bridge, which might cause someone to trip and fall at any time.
Mumbai Matterz posted the video on X with the comment, "Just asking @MumbaiMetro01 @MMRDAOfficial @MMMOCL_Official." Do not you have adequate resources to cover the Gundavali to WEH Metro station link so that travelers would not get soaked? When it gets wet, even the flooring becomes slick."

Just asking @MumbaiMetro01 @MMRDAOfficial @MMMOCL_Official
Don't you have enough resources to cover the connector from WEH Metro station to Gundavali, so that it can protect the commuters from getting drenched. Even the flooring turns slippery as it's wet.#MumbaiRains pic.twitter.com/OSfiF1eLFA
Local umbrella manufacturers will lose business. If they don’t dug-up roads, puncture-walas will lose business.

Please do not doubt intentions of our authorities 🙏
how dare you ask such logical question to Mumbai Metro
— /^\@/\/0j PATIL (@patilmb91) June 15, 2024Be it metro or local railway stations, flooring is always of inferior quality.

You are always one bad step away from rolling down the marble slope at Dahisar Stn PF 2/3.
Wonder how it gets passed in quality check but then we all know the answers.Aise koi design banata hai kya. 1 km dur Interchange station. Pune, hyd, Delhi are far better.
— Aslam shaikh (@aslamshaikh12) June 15, 2024The first day I saw this interchange I was surprised there was no roof. Isn't it obvious? Do these planners even know mumbai

To alert the relevant authorities, including Mumbai Metro One, MMRDA, and the Mumbai Metro One Official, the user specifically marked the X accounts. Netizens have responded to the video in a few different ways. Neither Mumbai Metro One nor the MMRDA have released an official statement regarding the video. But as the film shows, if nothing is done quickly, there is still a significant chance of a tragedy. The intensity of rainfall will steadily rise as the monsoon moves farther into the city, increasing the risk for commuters using the connecting bridge.
