UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visited Akshardham temple with his wife Akshata Murty this morning. During his visit, the Prime Minister offered pooja and aarti at the temple. Ahead of his visit, Akshardham temple official had earlier told ANI that preparations were fully done to welcome Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer talked to PTI and confirmed that security pickets were established in the vicinity, with thorough checks considering the ongoing G20 Summit. Adequate security personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of Rishi Sunak during his visit.

The director of Akshardham Temple told news agency ANI, ” His experience was extraordinary… He performed the Pooja and Aarti with a lot of faith… We showed him the temple and also gave him a model of the temple as a gift… He enjoyed every minute here…. he kept on extending time…
While talking to the ANI, the UK Prime minister expressed pride for his ‘Hindu’ roots. He said,” I am a proud Hindu. That’s how I was raised, that’s how I am. Hopefully, I can visit the Temple while I am here for the next couple of days. We just had Rakshabandhan, so from my sister and my cousin, I have all my Rakhis”. “I didn’t have time to celebrate Janmashtami. But hopefully, as I said I can make up for that if we visit a Mandir this time”.
He further added that faith is something very important, as it gives strength and resilience during stress.
Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty arrived in the national capital on Friday to attend the G20 Summit and was received by Union Minister Ashwini Choubey at the airport.
