The spectacular murder of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) president Nafe Singh Rathee was probably carried out by a UK- based gangster, according to the sources.

Nafe Singh Rathee was killed by some unknown people on Sunday at a railway crossing in the Jhajjar area of Haryana after it came to an abrupt stop. An episode emerged after five men opened fire on the SUV, Rathee was traveling in. Two others battled for their lives in critical condition, while the 66-year-old Rathee was shot dead.

Delhi Police suspects that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi could be involved in the killing.

Meanwhile, Haryana Police has said that they will interrogate a close associate of the gangster lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail in connection with the case. Earlier, the police had interrogated Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi in connection with the case. However, during interrogation, Sandeep denied any involvement in the murder of Nafe Singh Rathee.

Police have named former MLA Naresh Kaushik, Karambir Rathi, Ramesh Rathi, Satish Rathi, Gaurav Rathi, Rahul and Kamal in the FIR.

Assuring action on the culprits, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday said that the accused involved in the murder of State INLD chief Nafe Singh Rathee will not be spared at any cost and the strictest action will be taken in this regard. The investigation has been handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation.
