Ujjain: BJP leader's kin brutally beats Sadhu, forces to recite Gayatri Mantra; Aftermath video surfaces

New Delhi: In a shocking incident from Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain where two youths reportedly stopped Sadhu Gopal Das on the street and demanded that he recite the Gayatri Mantra. The confrontation escalated quickly when the youths, identified as Laxman Shekhawat and Vicky Shukla, allegedly attacked Sadhu Gopal Das, demanding money for liquor. They forcibly threw him to the ground, assaulted him and removed his loincloth.

The confrontation began when the youths, who were drinking alcohol in a vehicle, questioned Sadhu Gopal Das about his destination. They then demanded that he reveal the Gayatri Mantra, his name, and caste. When Sadhu Gopal Das was unable to meet their demands, they turned violent. The attackers threw him to the ground, beat him severely for approximately three hours, and stole his belongings, including his begging bowl and water pot.

In the video, Sadhu Gopal Das described the brutal attack, stating that the youths were aggressive and disrespectful. He explained that they assaulted him because he was unable to comply with their demands.

Case has been registered 

An FIR has been filed against the accused, Laxman Shekhawat and Vicky Shukla, who are reportedly related to senior BJP leader and former minister Sultan Singh Shekhawat. The police are actively investigating the case and have condemned the violence against the Sadhu. Authorities are working to ensure that justice is served and that such incidents are addressed promptly.
